What is a “Reverse Conference”?
In a normal conference, attendees present papers they have completed in advance in order to gain some feedback from their peers. A reverse conference pitches this order on its head. Instead, attendees arrive with ideas for a new paper or a project and spend the day working collaboratively to develop a draft of the paper.

The Theme
While Information Systems is seen as a discipline in its own right, information systems artifacts such as performance management systems, smart cities projects and enterprise planning systems are of interest to researchers in many different fields. This conference is intended to bolster the links between the different groups in Maynooth University and its ecosystem who are looking at the design and use of, as well as other issues associated with, information systems in a situational context across a number of fields.
Who should attend?
This event is aimed at anyone interested in publishing quality research around the design, conceptualization, use, and evaluation of technology and information systems in an organisational or business context. There is no requirement for research to aim at journals in the information systems discipline, but there is an expectation that you aim for a highly ranked ABS journal or equivalent.
We believe this event will be of interest to Maynooth University School of Business Faculty, Design Innovation Faculty, Lero Researchers and IVI researchers. However, if there are other people in your ecosystem that may be interested, feel free to forward details to them
The Process
We welcome applications within two streams:
1. Paper development stream. This stream would suit you if you already have an idea for a paper you wish to work on.

2. Paper/project generation stream. In this stream, you may not have yet a very specific paper idea, but you have ideas on what you would like to study within the topical scope of this conference, and you are looking for complementary ideas and skills to jointly generate a new project or paper idea. For example, you have an idea about a research problem and looking for a data to explore it or have an interesting data set and looking for a good theory or method to analyse it.
Submissions for both streams can be made as a group or as an individual wishing to identify new collaborators.
Interested participants will meet off-campus for a full day of intense writing and planning intended towards creating a rough draft of a paper and a plan for its completion. Senior scholars with experience publishing in top journals will be invited along to provide advice on the day.
Only people prepared to attend for the full day should register. While it is intended to be a fun and informal process, it is important that everyone there is committed to a productive day.
